Enzo Mari (1932 - 2020) was a noted Italian modernist artist and furniture designer. In 2002 the Faculty of Architecture of the Milan Polytechnic awarded him an honorary degree in industrial design. His works are exhibited at the Venice Biennale, the Milan Triennale, the Schloss Charlottenburg in Berlin, the M.I.C. of Faenza, at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome, at the MoMA in New York and at the Milan Triennale. For accomplishments, he was awarded many prizes including four Compasso d’Oro.
Mari designed the 'Frate' table for Driade in 1973 and it has since become one of his most iconic designs, executed in honest materials and crafted for a lifetime.
